Maranatha Orphanage – Kenya
Submitted by Sherle on Sat, 2011-07-23 06:55Turning Point group are assisting an African orphanage in the Kisii highlands of Kenya. Maranatha Orphanage – Kenya (MO-K) is a society which is registered with the Kenyan government and authorised to care for orphans (see below for a list). Plese note that their name was changed from Maranatha Family Centre as per the amendment of their group constitution August 2010.
Turning Point group are only able to assist these orphans because of donated funds. We would like to reassure interested persons that ALL money donated to assist the Kenyan orphans, does in fact, assist the orphans. Turning Point group workers are strictly volunteers and no worker receives a wage or allowance from orphanage funds or donations.
Our motive for presenting the following information, is not to boast about the 'good works' of Turning Point group, but to demonstrate the positive difference that generous sponsorship, received from a small community, has made in the lives of these MO-K orphans.
Empowered by community donations, Turning Point group have been able to assist the Maranatha Orphanage – Kenya in the following ways:
-
(as of 15 January 2007):
- financed the purchase of nutritional food items for the orphans;
- financed the installation of a toilet facility; (see photos http://www.themeofthebible.com/projects/mfc_toilet/mfc_toilet.php)
